The Course
An introduction to European art in the 17th century. Examples of painting, sculpture, and some architecture produced in Europe between approximately 1590 and 1700 will be examined.

Student Responsibilities
- Active class participation, which includes being prepared for each class, and taking part in discussion.
- Two Reports (8-10 machine-printed pages, with footnotes and bibliography) presented in class with web-based images, then handed in
- One Take-Home Final Exam (available online Tuesday, December 5; due at my office Tuesday, December 12).
Grading
- Class participation = 15%
- First Report = 25%
- Second Report = 25%
- Research Paper = 35%
