The Course
 
An introduction to the art of the Early Renaissance in Italy. Examples of painting, sculpture, architecture, and printmaking produced in Italy between 1200 and 1500 will be examined

Student Responsibilities
 
- Active class participation, which includes being prepared for each class, and taking part in discussion.
 - Two Reports (9-10 machine-printed pages, with footnotes and bibliography) presented in class with web-based images
 - One Final Exam
- The Final Exam (Thursday, December 11) consists of two parts
- 20 images will be projected, each for 30 seconds. Name the ARTIST in each case
 - 4 images will be projected, each for 12 minutes. In each case 
- identify the artist
 - give the name or title of the image
 - give a date or dates (to within 5 years)
 - write a essay on what you know about the image
  
  
Both the identifications and the images will be selected from the list of study images provided
  
  
Grading
 
- Class participation = 10%
 - First Report = 30%
 - Second Report = 30%
 - Final Exam = 30%
