    An introduction to the major works of art and architecture of the ancient and medieval worlds within their historical and cultural contexts

Student Responsibilities

  • Active class participation, which includes being prepared for each class, and taking part in discussion.
  • Read all the assignments before class meets, as indicated on the schedule
  • Attend all class meetings
  • Takes notes in class and make notes while reading the textbook and other assignments

Paper and Exams

  • One five-page, double-spaced paper (due December 7)
  • Two, non-cumulative, take-home exams (due October 3 and December 12)

Grading

  • First Exam = 30%
  • Second Exam = 30%
  • Paper = 30%
  • Attendance and Participation = 10%
